Jordan spirit is everywhere as we celebrate spirit week. Today is look- a-like day and many Jaguars are twinning, tripleting, or even quadrupleting in the hallways of our school. Try not to get too mixed up with your students, teachers!
Tomorrow is Disney Day as students get to dress as their favorite Disney Character, and Thursday we take a trip to the past for Throwback Thursday as Students throw it way back and dress like they did in 3rd grade. Lastly, Friday is Decade Day with 6th graders dressing in the groovy style of the 60's, 7th graders will go disco in dress from the 70's and 8th graders will look totally rad in outfits from the 80's! Be sure to show your Jordan spirit!
Yesterday kicked off four weeks of the Latino Heritage Film Festival at lunch. Each week there will be three to four movies being played at lunch time. Each movie will take about four lunch times to finish. Students who are interested can get the film schedules from their Social studies teachers. Permission slips must be signed for any of the PG-13 movies and should be held on to for all four weeks. For more info, contact Mr. Asmile in F10.
Next up, we have news on new social studies content. The process of reviewing new instructional materials for use in 6th, 7th and 8th grade social studies courses has begun and the Social Studies department is looking for student input. Student thoughts and suggestions are appreciated! Students should complete the survey posted on Schoology by Friday, September 22nd.
The Social Studies Department is also looking for one student representative to join the Textbook Selection Advisory Committee. They are looking for 6th or 7th graders who are interested in becoming a member of the committee. Applications can be found by asking a social studies teacher or seeing Ms. Missett in room C10. Applications are due by Friday, September 22nd. That's all for our announcements!
