For anyone who participated in the Day of Silence last week, the GSA is having a debriefing meeting today at lunch in B6 for anyone who wants to talk about their experience taking the vow of silence.
May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Jordan's last film festival for the year. So come and watch some great movies! Please remember that that PG-13 movies require a signed permission slip, which are available at various spots around campus.
Today Disney's animated feature Mulan will be playing in F3. Fearful that her ailing father will be drafted into the Chinese military, Mulan (Ming-Na Wen) takes his spot -- though, as a girl living under a patriarchal regime, she is technically unqualified to serve. She cleverly impersonates a man and goes off to train with fellow recruits.
The Breadwinner will be playing in M-1 Parvana is an 11-year-old girl who lives under Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001. After the wrongful arrest of her father, Parvana cuts off her hair and dresses like a boy to support her family.
