On December 1, 30 students from the Greene Science Olympiad Club competed against 34 teams in the 7th Annual Churchill Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament near Sacramento. Students from Greene were able to bring back 11 medals! Liam and Aidan Hsiu placed 3rd in the Elastic Launched Glider event. Noah Baldonado and Issac Oh placed 3rd in the Herpetology event. The Greene Lost and Found has a lot of items that need to go back to their owners. Students are asked to come and collect their lost items from the lost and found, which is located in the front office. All items that are not collected by the end of the semester will be donated.
Greene's Annual Spelling Bee is coming up next week. Students who take part in this fun competition will have the opportunity to represent Greene in the National Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington DC.
Interested students should come to room H4 today at lunch for a practice round. Students who want to enter the official competition MUST come to the practice round. Students should bring their lunch and find out what the spelling bee is all about!"
This year's winter wonderland dance is welcome to all grade levels and will be semi-formal, so students should dress to impress! Scholarships are available in the office from the counselors for those that need help purchasing tickets. Students are also asked to check the no dance list to make sure they are eligible to buy a ticket.
The Winter Wonderland dance will be this Friday, December 7th from 7 to 9 PM. Tickets are 10 dollars and will be sold in Hugh Center Court for 6th grade. 7th and 8th grade tickets will be sold in front of the dance studio.
